Product Introduction: What is a Stabilized Soil Mixing Plant

A stabilized soil mixing plant (also known as a water-stabilized mixing plant or stabilized soil batching plant in the industry) is a fully automatic continuous mixing equipment set dedicated to road subgrade construction.

It can mix aggregates such as crushed stone, gravel, soil and sand with inorganic binders such as cement, lime and fly ash according to the engineering design ratio. Through precise metering and forced continuous mixing, it produces special stabilized soil mixtures for road subgrades, including cement-stabilized soil, lime-stabilized soil, lime-fly ash crushed stone and graded stabilized crushed stone. It is core essential equipment for the subgrade construction of high-grade highways, municipal roads, airports and railways.

In simple terms: it is a professional mixing plant specially for producing road subgrade bearing layer materials. Different from concrete batching plants that produce pavement concrete, it is designed exclusively for subgrade stabilization, load-bearing and reinforcement.

Product Selection: When to Choose a Stabilized Soil Mixing Plant & When to Choose an All-in-One Stabilized Soil Unit

  • Stabilized soil mixing plant (conventional type): The batching, powder silo, mixing and conveying modules are completely independent and require a concrete foundation for fixed installation.
  • All-in-one stabilized soil unit (mobile integrated stabilized soil plant): Batching, mixing and conveying are integrated on a single frame, requiring no foundation and allowing overall relocation.

Product Advantages of Stabilized Soil Mixing Plant

Ultra-high mixing accuracy, stable and qualified mixture qualityAdopting a fully automatic electronic weighing and metering system, the aggregate metering accuracy is ±1.5%, cement/powder metering accuracy ±1%, and water metering accuracy ±1%, fully complying with highway subgrade construction specifications. Compared with on-site mixing by road mixers, the mixing uniformity and strength consistency are improved by more than 80%, completely solving problems of segregation and uneven strength.

Double-shaft forced mixing, uniform mixing without segregationEquipped with a double-shaft forced non-liner mixer with multi-angle mixing blades, it fully mixes aggregates, powder and water in seconds. The mixture is dense and uniform, free of uncoated materials, agglomerates and segregation, ensuring the subgrade compaction and strength fully meet standards.

Fully automatic intelligent control, simple operation and labor savingFully automatic PLC computer control system supports one-key start/stop, automatic ratio recording, output statistics and fault alarm. The whole process of automatic feeding, metering, mixing and discharging can be operated and managed by a single person, greatly reducing labor costs.

Modular combination, convenient installation and maintenanceSplit-type modular design for easy disassembly and assembly; integrated unit for quick production without foundation. Vulnerable parts are centrally arranged for convenient daily inspection, cleaning and maintenance.

Continuous production, high construction efficiencyContinuous feeding, mixing and discharging without interruption. The discharging speed matches the construction rhythm of pavers and transport vehicles, avoiding material shortage and downtime, perfectly adapting to the continuous subgrade paving construction schedule.

Working Process

The whole equipment operates in a fully automatic continuous cycle, with 5 steps:

  1. Raw material feeding & storage: Loader loads aggregates (crushed stone, gravel, etc.) into batching silos; cement and lime powder are pumped into closed powder silos for storage.
  2. System ratio setting: Input engineering design mix ratio (cement dosage, aggregate gradation, moisture content) at the console; the system automatically locks metering parameters for all materials.
  3. Precise quantitative metering: Variable-frequency belts of batching silos output aggregates at the set ratio; screw scales of powder silos output cement/lime quantitatively; water supply system outputs water quantitatively. All materials are independently and accurately weighed.
  4. Forced mixing: Metered aggregates, powder and water are fed into the double-shaft mixer synchronously. High-speed rotating blades forcefully mix them into uniform stabilized soil finished product.
  5. Finished product discharging & transportation: The mixed stabilized soil mixture is conveyed to dump trucks via the discharging belt, then transported to the construction site for paving and compaction by paver.

The whole process runs continuously and uninterruptedly, with feeding → metering → mixing → discharging carried out simultaneously to maximize efficiency.

Operating Precautions

I. Pre-Start Preparation

  1. Conduct a comprehensive inspection before startup: Check belts, mixing blades, motors, reducers, limit switches and emergency stop buttons for integrity; check sufficient material levels in powder and aggregate silos.
  2. Verify normal operation of weighing sensors (no obstruction or jamming). Calibrate the metering system in advance; operation without calibration is strictly prohibited.
  3. Check safe grounding, circuits and insulation; clear debris and keep unrelated personnel away from the equipment.
  4. Operators must hold certificates and be familiar with the operation manual; operation by non-professionals is strictly prohibited.

II. Production & Operation

  1. Start in sequence: no-load startup first, then feeding for production. Shut down in sequence: stop feeding first, empty materials, then shut down. Emergency stop with materials is strictly prohibited.
  2. Do not change ratio parameters or arbitrarily increase/decrease cement dosage during production. Monitor the discharged mixture in real time; stop immediately for inspection if uncoated materials or segregation are found.
  3. Keep personnel away from belts, mixers and rotating transmission parts during operation; do not put hands or heads into belt tracks or the mixer.
  4. Monitor abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, belt deviation, material/powder leakage in real time. Press the emergency stop button immediately in case of failure; inspect and repair only after power off, and operation with faults while powered is strictly prohibited.
  5. Keep powder silos moisture-proof and sealed on rainy days; do not feed agglomerated cement into the mixer. In winter, prevent pipelines from freezing and keep the equipment warm.

III. Shutdown, Maintenance & Safety

  1. Empty residual materials in the mixer and belts after daily shutdown; thoroughly clean the mixing host to prevent mixture agglomeration and hardening from damaging the equipment.
  2. Regularly maintain reducer lubricating oil, bearings and vulnerable mixing blade parts; calibrate the weighing and metering system monthly to ensure accuracy.
  3. Regularly clean the dust collector on top of powder silos to ensure unobstructed dust removal and eliminate dust explosion risks.
  4. Cut off power, lock and tag the equipment before maintenance; lock the hopper with safety pins when servicing the mixer.
